I read Singer's book and thought she did a good job introducing some of the events and the personalities involved. However, the main problem with Singer is her blatant bias. One would think she was a radical abolitionist from the mid-19th century| |"a new perspective...rich...extensively cites other valuable Civil War references...a somber reflection" --Military
