This book, and others in this series, have great maps and photos of the same islands and old military instalations that he stayed in, as well as a very detailed history of the combat on the islands. Very nice Coffee-table book for the anyone interested in alaskan

This volume deals with the North Country at war, the Alaska Highway, the Canol project, numerous transportation systems, communications, Russian Lend-Lease, The Alaska Territorial Guard, the Islands of Attu and Kiska and concludes with a legacy of the war.
